Sepulang kondangan langsung saja mencari-cari referensi lewat om saya, om google tentang seluk-beluk dunia per-kipasan. During this discussion I realized that my daughter did not think she was doing anything wrong, she believed she was acting according to what was acceptable for an eleven year old. I had to think about this for a bit because she did not understand that it is not ok to misbehave. I got the idea to use an example and ask her what she thought about it.

I said, "A person robs a bank, is caught and goes to jail. As soon as that person gets out they rob another bank is caught and goes to jail again. Gets out robs yet another bank and goes to jail. What do you think about this?" "There's a problem," was her answer. Then I said to her, "You are the person robbing the bank". The look on her face was utter devastation. I then explained to her that when she misbehaves it's like the person robbing the bank. The robber did not want to go to jail but that is what he/she got, exactly what they didn't want. That's what you get every time you misbehave; you get everything that you don't want. The logic was inescapable.

If you focus on the things you don't want, you are going to get what you focus on. Now that might seem like it's backwards but in reality that is exactly what many people do and they don't understand why they continually get the results they get. Your mind attracts to you that which is the center of your focus. If your focus is on what you don't want you will get that which you focus on. While the above example is a bit extreme the point is you attract to you what you think about. My daughter said she was always thinking about not getting into trouble, what did she get?

It is extremely important to be specific about what you want as well. It is not enough to say you want more money; you must be specific about the amount of more money you want. If you make $40,000 a year, your subconscious mind thinks that $40,001 is more money which it is and therefore you have reached your goal. Your efforts to get more fail because you're now thinking I don't want $40,001 I want more. If you want to lose weight, loosing 1 pound to your subconscious mind is achieving your goal, you lost weight.

Now you might be thinking "I want to make more money and in the back of your mind more money means $50,000 a year, but all you say is more money. See the difference? You must be specific and say next year I want to make $50,000 or I want to lose 20 pounds in three months. You must know exactly what it is you want or you will fail to get it.

The National Geographic Society has not discovered ancient giant humans, despite rampant reports and pictures.

The hoax began with a doctored photo and later found a receptive online audience—thanks perhaps to the image's unintended religious connotations.

A digitally altered photograph created in 2002 shows a reclining giant surrounded by a wooden platform—with a shovel-wielding archaeologist thrown in for scale.

By 2004 the "discovery" was being blogged and emailed all over the world—"Giant Skeleton Unearthed!"—and it's been enjoying a revival in 2007.

The photo fakery might be obvious to most people. But the tall tale refuses to lie down even five years later, if a continuing flow of emails to National Geographic News are any indication. (The National Geographic Society owns National Geographic News.)

The messages come from around the globe—Portugal, India, El Salvador, Malaysia, Africa, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya. But they all ask the same question: Is it true?

Perpetuating the Myth

Helping to fuel the story's recent resurgence are a smattering of media outlets that have reported the find as fact.

An often cited March 2007 article in India's Hindu Voice monthly, for example, claimed that a National Geographic Society team, in collaboration with the Indian Army, had dug up a giant human skeleton in India.

"Recent exploration activity in the northern region of India uncovered a skeletal remains of a human of phenomenal size," the report read.

The story went on to say the discovery was made by a "National Geographic Team (India Division) with support from the Indian Army since the area comes under jurisdiction of the Army."
The account added that the team also found tablets with inscriptions that suggest the giant belonged to a race of superhumans that are mentioned in the Mahabharata, a Hindu epic poem from about 200 B.C.

"They were very tall, big and very powerful, such that they could put their arms around a tree trunk and uproot it," the report said, repeating claims that initially appeared in 2004.

Voice editor P. Deivamuthu admitted to National Geographic News that his publication was taken in by the fake reports.

The monthly, which is based in Mumbai (Bombay), published a retraction after readers alerted Deivamuthu to the hoax, he said.

"We are against spreading lies and canards," Deivamuthu added. "Moreover, our readers are a highly intellectual class and will not brook any nonsense."

Other blog entries—such as a May 2007 posting on a site called Srini's Weblog—cite a report supposedly published in the Times of India on April 22, 2004. But a search of that newspaper's archive revealed no such article.

Arabian Giant

Variations of the giant photo hoax include alleged discovery of a 60- to 80-foot long (18- to 24-meter) human skeleton in Saudi Arabia. In one popular take, which likewise first surfaced in 2004, an oil-exploration team is said to have made the find.

Here the skeleton is held up as evidence of giants mentioned in Islamic, rather than Hindu, scriptures.

The Debunkers

Web sites dedicated to debunking urban legends and "netlore" picked up on the various giant hoaxes soon after they first appeared.

California-based Snopes.com, for example, noted that the skeleton image had been lifted from Worth1000, which hosts photo-manipulation competitions.

Titled "Giants," the skeleton-and-shoveler picture had won third place in a 2002 contest called "Archaeological Anomalies 2."

The image's creator—an illustrator from Canada who goes by the screen name IronKite—told National Geographic News via email that he had had nothing to do with the subsequent hoax.

He added that he wants to remain anonymous because some forums that debated whether the giant was genuine or not "were turning their entire argument into a religious one." It was argued, for instance, that the Saudi Arabian find was entirely consistent with the teachings of the Koran.

"This was about the same time that death threats and cash bounties were being issued against cartoonists and other industry professionals for doing things like depicting the Prophet Mohammed," IronKite wrote.

How the Image Was Made

IronKite started with an aerial photo of a mastodon excavation in Hyde Park, New York, in 2000. He then digitally superimposed a human skeleton over the beast's remains.

The later addition of a digging man presented the biggest technical challenge.

"If you look, he's holding a yellow-handled shovel, but there's nothing on the end," IronKite said.

"Originally, the spade end was there. But [it] looked like it was occupying the exact same space as the skeleton's temple, making the whole thing look fake.

"Now it looks like he's just holding a stick, and people don't notice. It's funny."

IronKite also altered the color of the man's clothing to create a "uniform tie-in" with the white-shirted observer peering down from the wooden platform.

The two figures work to exaggerate the scale of the skeleton, he added.

IronKite said he's tickled that the picture—which took only about an hour and a half to create—has generated so much Internet attention.

"I laugh myself silly when some guy claims to know someone who was there, or even goes so far as to claim that he or she was there when they found the skeleton and took the picture," IronKite said.

"Sometimes people seem so desperate to believe in something that they lie to themselves, or exaggerate in order to make their own argument stronger."

Wanting to Believe

David Mikkelson of Snopes.com said such hoaxes succeed when they seem to confirm something people are already inclined to believe, such as a prejudice, political viewpoint, or religious belief.

A hoax also needs to be presented "in a framework that has the appearance of credibility," he said in an email.

The "ancient giant" has both elements, according to Mikkelson.

"It appeals to both a religious and a secular vision of the world as different and more fantastic than mere science would lead us to believe," he said.

"Proof," Mikkelson added, "comes in the form of a fairly convincing image."

For anyone who may have knowingly propagated the myth, Mikkelson added, the motivation "probably wasn't any different than the motivation for engaging in a game of ringing someone's doorbell and running away—because it's an easy way to have a laugh at someone else's expense."

Alex Boese, "curator" of the virtual Museum of Hoaxes, said fake giants have a long history going back to the at least the 1700s.

The recent hoax is reminiscent of the once famous Cardiff Giant myth, involving a ten-foot-tall (three-meter) stone figure dug up in 1869 in Cardiff, New York, Boese said.

Many people believed the figure was a petrified man and claimed he was one of the giants mentioned in the Bible's Book of Genesis: "There were giants in the Earth in those days."

Likewise, Boese said, the recent giant hoax "taps into people's desire for mystery and their desire to see concrete confirmation of religious legends."

Ada cerita yang sangat menarik dari warga negara Australia tentang pak Harto ketika beliau mulai dari awal masuk rumah sakit hingga meninggal bahwa di negara tetangga kita di Australia ternyata setiap harinya memberitakan pak Harto dan itu selalu jadi Hotline dan dia bertanya-tanya siapakah Bapak H. M. Soeharto tersebut ? Dan akhirnya diapun datang ke Indonesia dan ikut hadir pada acara pemakaman dan dia baru sadar bahwa ternyata pak Harto adalah tokoh Asia !.

Temasek Yakin Menang Pada Sidang Banding KPPU

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Temasek Holdings melalui kuasa hukumnya Todung Mulya Lubis yakin menang dalam sidang permohonan banding terhadap keputusan Komisi Pengawasan Persaingan Usaha (KPPU) mengenai kepemilikan silang Temasek.

"Kami yakin pengadilan akan mengabulkan permohonan kami dengan membatalkan keputusan KPPU," kata Todung dalam sebuah acara yang digelar Temasek Holdings di Jakarta, Rabu.

Dia mengatakan, Temasek saat ini hanya menunggu panggilan dari Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat (PN Jakpus) untuk melanjutkan proses persidangan banding Temasek tersebut.

PN Jakpus, lanjutnya, menunda proses persidangan sambil menunggu surat keputusan dari Mahkamah Agung (MA) mengenai penetapan pengadilan yang akan menyidangkan kasus keberatan Temasek atas keputusan KPPU ini.

Todung mengatakan, institusi yang berhak mengajukan konsolidasi pengadilan atau permohonan penetapan Pengadilan Negeri untuk menyidangkan kasus ini adalah KPPU kepada Mahkamah Agung.

Kalau melihat pengajuan keberatan ada di PN Jakpus, maka seharusnya PN Jakpus, tapi kita tidak tahu, karena MA bisa saja memutuskan lain," kata Todung.

Temasek Holdings sendiri telah mengajukan banding ke Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Jakarta Pusat pada pertengan Desember lalu.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Director Corporate Affairs Temasek Holdings Daliea Mohamad mengatakan, tidak terpengaruh dengan keputusan KPPU dan tetap akan berinvestasi di Indonesia.

Kami tetap berkomitmen dan kami percaya pada prospek potensial jangka panjang di Indonesia dan di ASEAN," kata Deliea.

Akan tetapi dia menolak untuk menjelaskan lebih lanjut rencana bisnis investasi Temasek Holdings di Indonesia pada 2008.

Sebelumnya, KPPU telah mengajukan permohonan penggabungan perkara kepada Ketua Mahkamah Agung (MA) terkait pengajuan keberatan atas putusan KPPU yang sama tetapi diajukan di pengadilan negeri yang berbeda oleh Kelompok Usaha Temasek dan Telkomsel.

Kami telah mengajukan melalui surat nomor 11/K/I/2008 tanggal 9 Januari 2008 yang ditujukan kepada Mahkamah Agung yang ditembuskan kepada Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat dan Jakarta Selatan," kata Direktur Penegakan Hukum KPPU Ismed Fadilah pekan lalu.

Ia mengatakan, sesuai dengan Peraturan Mahkamah Agung (Perma) Nomor 3 tahun 2005, bila terdapat pengajuan keberatan atas putusan KPPU yang sama namun diajukan di pengadilan yang berbeda maka KPPU dapat mengajukan permohonan penggabungan perkara kepada Ketua MA.

Putusan KPPU yang berkaitan dengan Kelompok Usaha Temasek dan praktik monopoli Telkomsel (Perkara nomor 07/KPPU-L/2007) telah diajukan keberatannya oleh sembilan terlapor.

Terlapor yang mengajukan keberatan yaitu Kelompok Usaha Temasek terdiri dari Temasek Holding Pte. Ltd., Singapore Technologies Telemedia Pte. Ltd., STT Communications Ltd, Asia Mobile Holding Company Pte. Ltd., Asia Mobile Holding Pte., Indonesia Communications Limited, Indonesia Communication Pte., Singapore Telecommunications Ltd., dan Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte. Ltd.

Kelompok Usaha Temasek tersebut terdaftar di Kepaniteraan PN Jakarta Pusat dan tercatat dalam satu register yang sama bernomor 02/KPPU/2007/PN.JKT.PST.

Pendukung Syahrul Duduki Gedung DPRD Sulsel

Makassar (ANTARA News) - Ratusan pendukung gubernur Sulawesi Selatan terpilih, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, menduduki gedung DPRD setempat sejak Minggu malam (13/1) sebagai protes terhadap keputusan Mahkamah Agung yang memerintahkan Pilkada ulang di empat kabupaten di provinsi itu.

Mereka menerobos masuk gedung wakil rakyat menjelang tengah malam dan bertekad akan menginap di gedung itu hingga Syahrul dan pasangannya dilantik menjadi gubernur dan wakil gubernur Sulsel periode 2008-2013 yang dijadwalkan Sabtu (19/1). Sementara masa jabatan gubernur dan wakil gubernur Sulsel periode 2003-2008, HM Amin Syam dan Syahrul Yasin Limpo akan berakhir 19 Januari 2009. Menurut sejumlah pendemo, pada Senin pagi ini, massa akan bertambah hingga ribuan orang yang datang dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Selatan.

Para pendemo menilai bahwa putusan MA yang memerintahkan KPUD Sulsel untuk melaksanakan Pilkada ulang di Tanatoraja, Gowa, Bantaeng dan Bone, telah melecehkan hati nurani rakyat Sulsel yang telah memilih `Sayang` sebagai pemimpin daerah lima tahun mendatang.

Putusan MA telah melukai hati rakyat sehingga harus dilawan guna terciptanya suasana kondusif di daerah ini sekaligus meminta kepada Mendagri atas nama Presiden untuk melantik Sayang sebagai Gubernur/Wakil Gubernur Sulsel pada tanggal 19 Januari 2008," kata Wakil dari FKPPI Kota Makassar, Andi Hery, Senin dini hari.

Menurut dia, aspirasi rakyat Sulsel sebagai pemegang kedaulatan di daerah ini tidak boleh dihancurkan hanya karena putusan MA yang sangat keliru untuk kepentingan oknum-oknum tertentu yang tidak senang dengan kemenangan pasangan Sayang di Pilgub 5 Nopember 2007 lalu.

Karena itu, putusan MA yang meminta Pilkada ulang di empat daerah tersebut melanggar undang-undang Nomor 32 tahun 2004 tentang pemerintahan daerah sehingga harus dilawan dan meminta MA meninjau kembali putusannya itu.

Naintu (92), wakil dari Pemuda Pancasila, Pemuda Pancamarga dan kelompok pendukung Sayang menyatakan bahwa pihaknya tidak akan bergeser dari Gedung DPRD Sulsel sebelum ada kepastian pelantikan Sayang sebagai Gubernur/Wagub Sulsel.

Kita akan duduki gedung wakil rakyat ini sampai hari pelantikan pasangan Sayang hari Sabtu (19/1) nanti," katanya seraya meminta anggota DPRD Sulsel untuk mendukung KPUD Sulsel yang akan mengajukan Peninjauan Kembali (PK) ke MA hari Senin ini.

Para pengunjuk rasa yang menginap di gedung DPRD Sulsel itu tidur di luar gedung dengan beralaskan tikar dan mantel yang dibawa dari rumah masing-masing. Meski hujan deras terus mengguyur ibukota Sulsel ini, namun mereka tampak tidak terusik.

Puluhan mobil dan ratusan sepeda motor diparkir teratur di halaman kantor tersebut dan di jalan Urip Sumoharjo.

Palu (ANTARA News) - Juru bicara Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Muhammad Ismail Yusanto, mengatakan penerapan syariat Islam di Indonesia mendapat tantangan dari kalangan tokoh ummat Islam sendiri.

"Masih banyak tokoh Islam yang menentang penerapan syariat Islam di Indonesia dan ini sangat disayangkan," kata Ismail Yusanto saat menjadi pembicara seminar nasional bertema "Kesiapan Umat Islam Menyongsong Tegaknya Syariat" di Palu, Sabtu.

Menurut dia, sekalipun mendapat tantangan, peluang penerapan syariat Islam masih terbuka lebar karena sistem sekuler yang diterapkan saat ini telah gagal menyelesaikan berbagai krisis yang ada.

Selain itu, semangat keber-Islam-an meningkat dan penerapan syariat Islam secara terbatas telah berlaku di sejumlah daerah di Tanah Air. Iklim keterbukaan, katanya, juga menjadi peluang untuk terus menyuarakan syariat di negara ini.

"Memang masih ada tantangan, tapi peluang juga ada yang dapat digunakan untuk terus menyuarakan penerapan syariat," katanya.

Menurut Ismail Yusanto, Indonesia saat ini sedang menangis. Negara yang berpenduduk mayoritas Islam di dunia ini kembali mejadi negara miskin dengan beban utang lebih Rp2.000 triliun.

Selain itu, korupsi merajalela, hukum dipermainkan, kebebasan yang melampaui batas serta kemaksiatan merajalela.

Padahal, Indonesia memiliki areal hutan paling luas di dunia, tanah subur dan alam yang indah, potensi laut dan tambang melimpah.

Menurut dia, ada tiga pendekatan analisa penyebab krisis di Indonesia. Pendekatan ekonomi memandang lemahnya fundamental ekonomi, neraca perdagangan defisit, hutan luar negeri tinggi. Sementara pendekatan politis berpendapat, berkuasanya rezim yang korup dengan tatanan yang tidak demokratis.

"Sedangkan pendekatan yang radikal menilai sistem yang dipakai dewasa ini sudah salah dan perlu diganti dengan syariat Islam. Pendekatan terakhir ini adalah yang paling tepat," demikian Ismail Yusanto.(*)

Soeharto Tanyakan Mertua Ical

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Setelah menjalani perawatan di Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina (RSPP) sejak Jumat (4/1), kondisi mantan presiden Soeharto kian membaik dan konstan, bahkan sempat menanyakan kabar mertua Menko Kesra Aburizal Bakrie.

"Beliau masih kenal saya. Dia menanyakan mertua saya," kata Aburizal Bakrie usai menjenguk Pak Harto di RSPP Jakarta, Senin malam. Ical datang menjenguk mantan orang nomor satu di Indonesia itu sendirian.

Aburizal mengaku hanya bertemu selama satu (1) menit dengan mantan presiden yang bergelar "smiling general" itu. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Soeharto dapat berbicara walaupun terbata-bata.

"Beliau juga mengatakan, doakan saya ya," cerita Ical, panggilan akrab Aburizal Bakrie.

Ical menjelaskan di dalam ruang perawatan, Soeharto didampingi oleh Titiek Soeharto dan mantan Mensesneg Moerdiono.

Ditanya soal biaya perawatan Soeharto, Ical menjelaskan seluruhnya ditanggung oleh Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara (APBN) namun Ical tidak menjelaskan anggaran perawatan Soeharto diambil dari nomenklatur mana.

Soeharto sendiri berada di kamar seharga Rp2,5 juta per malam. Menurut informasi yang beredar, keluarga Soeharto menyewa tiga kamar, satu untuk keluarga, satu untuk ruang perawatan Soeharto dan satu lagi untuk para pengawal.

Sebelumnya dikabarkan, demi membantu perawatan mantan Presiden Soeharto, pihak RSPP Jakarta, meminjam alat terapi ginjal khusus `Continous Venous Venous Hemofieltration` (CVVH) dari Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin (RSHS) Bandung.

Menurut Pakar Anastesi RSHS Bandung, dr Ike Sri Redjeki Sp.An, CVVH merupakan alat terapi khusus ginjal yang diantaranya berfungsi untuk menyedot berbagai racun serta cairan elektrolit yang terletak pada ginjal pasien.

Alat itu bisa dikatakan sebagai pengganti ginjal yang bisa dipasang setiap saat," katanya menjelaskan.

Alat pengganti ginjal tersebut dimasukan melalui sejumlah pembuluh vena yang terletak dalam tubuh pasien, sehingga pemasangan alat tersebut memerlukan kehati-hatian karena dapat membahayakan kondisi pasien dimaksud, katanya.

Ia mengatakan, alat tersebut merupakan alat eksklusif dengan biaya penggunaan pada setiap harinya bisa mencapai antara Rp2-4 Juta, belum ditambah biaya pembelian cairan khusus untuk ginjal yang dipasang pada alat tersebut.

Saat dikonfirmasi hal tersebut, Dirut RSHS Bandung, Prof Cissy Prawira, membantah apabila pihaknya telah meminjamkan alat itu kepada pihak RSPP untuk merawat mantan presiden Soeharto.

Dikatakan, alat serupa yang dimiliki pihaknya saat ini sedang digunakan merawat seorang pasien di RSHS. Namun pihaknya tidak menutupi apabila alat tersebut memang sering dipinjamkan sesama rumah sakit di Bandung untuk kebutuhan tertentu.

Menurutnya, saat ini di Kota Bandung terdapat dua unit alat CCVH itu, yakni milik sebuah pabrik pembuatannya serta milik RSHS.

Ya, saya memang mengetahui adanya peminjaman alat bantu khusus itu untuk ke Jakarta, namun bukan pihak kami yang meminjamnya," katanya.(*).

Sidang Perdata Soeharto Digelar Selasa

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Sidang perdata kasus mantan penguasa orde baru akan digelar Selasa, di Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Selatan dengan agenda mendengarkan keterangan saksi-saksi dari Yayasan Beasiswa Supersemar.

"Besok menghadirkan saksi fakta, sedangkan tanggal 15 nanti mendatangkan saksi ahli," kata kuasa hukum Yayasan Supersemar dan Soeharto, Deny Kailimang, di Jakarta, Senin malam, usai menjenguk Pak Harto.

Kejaksaan Agung menuntut pengembalian dana Yayasan Beasiswa Supersemar yang telah disalahgunakan senilai 420 juta dolar AS dan Rp185,92 miliar, ditambah ganti rugi imateriil Rp10 triliun.

Menurut Ketua Tim Jaksa Pengacara Negara (JPN) Dachamer Munthe, yayasan tersebut pada awalnya bertujuan menyalurkan beasiswa kepada pelajar dan mahasiswa kurang mampu sejak tahun 1978. Yayasan yang diprakarsai Presiden Soeharto saat itu menghimpun dana negara melalui bank-bank pemerintah dan masyarakat.

Sesuai Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 15 Tahun 1976 tentang Penetapan Penggunaan Sisa Laba Bersih Bank-Bank Milik Pemerintah, yang kemudian diatur dengan Keputusan Menteri Keuangan Nomor 333/KMK.011/1978, serta Pasal 3 Anggaran Dasar Yayasan Supersemar, seharusnya uang yang diterima disalurkan untuk beasiswa pelajar dan mahasiswa, namun pada praktiknya tidak demikian dan telah terjadi penyelewengan.

Penyelewengan dana itu, menurut JPN, merupakan perbuatan melawan hukum sesuai pasal 1365 KUHPerdata.

Sebelumnya pada 21 Agustus 2000, Kejaksaan Agung berupaya menyeret mantan Presiden Soeharto menjadi pesakitan dalam perkara pidana dugaan korupsi pada tujuh yayasan termasuk Yayasan Supersemar, namun upaya itu gagal karena Soeharto sakit dan dinyatakan tidak dapat diadili.

Pada 11 Mei 2006, Kejaksaan Agung mengeluarkan Surat Ketetapan Penghentian Penuntutan Perkara (SKP3) HM Soeharto dan mengalihkan upaya pengembalian keuangan negara melalui pengajuan gugatan perdata.(*).

Ryaas Rasyid: Soeharto Berhak Dimaafkan

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Pengamat Politik Ryaas Rasyid mengatakan mantan Presiden Soeharto yang sejak Jumat (4/1) hingga saat ini masih terbaring di Rumah sakit Pusat Pertamina (RSPP), Jakarta Selatan, berhak dimaafkan.

"Sebagai pemimpin yang pernah berjasa, Pak Harto berhak dimaafkan," katanya setelah menjenguk Soeharto di RSPP, Jakarta Selatan, Senin malam.

Ia mengatakan dalam hal ini Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono bisa memaafkan atau memerintahkan untuk mengeluarkan Surat Perintah Penghentian Perkara (SP3) terhadap seluruh kasus hukum mantan presiden Soeharto.

"Prakarsa bisa dari Presiden, sama pada saat Soeharto mengambil prakarsa untuk menyelesaikan persoalan Bung Karno, tanpa melalui pengadilan," katanya.

Ryaas mengatakan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono bisa melakukan hal yang sama seperti yang dilakukan Soeharto pada masa itu.

"Dari sisi politik, Soeharto berjasa. Pemimpin yang pernah berjasa," katanya.

Pada kesempatan itu ia juga mengaku hanya sebentar menjenguk Soeharto karena dokter sangat membatasi waktu kunjungan.

"Sebentar sekali, karena dokternya melarang lama-lama. Hanya diberi waktu sekitar satu menit," katanya.

Ia menuturkan, saat ia datang Soeharto dalam keadaan terbaring, mengenakan selimut dan tidak tampak dipasangi peralatan medis. "Mudah-mudahan bisa segera baik," katanya.

Penguasa Orde Baru itu, katanya, juga terlihat mengetahui siapa saja yang datang mengenguknya. "Dia tidak bicara tetapi tahu kalau kita datang," demikian Ryaas.(*)

Des Moines, Iowa (ANTARA News) - Barack Obama Kamis melakukan langkah besar untuk menjadi presiden Amerika Serikat pertama dari kulit hitam pada saat kampanyenya di Iowa meningggalkan Hillary Clinton dalam pembukaan pemilihan calon presiden dari Demokrat.

Tokoh Republik Mike Huckabee dengan sangat menarik perhatian berhasil mengalahkan pesaingnya Mitt Romney di Iowa, meskipun secara dramatis disisihkan oleh mantan gubernur Massachusetts.

Obama, Senator Illinois, meraih posisi pertama Demokrat untuk menuju Gedung Putih dengan meraih kemenangan lagi atas mantan Senator John Edwards dari Carolina Utara, yang suatu ketika menyisihkan calon terkemuka Hillary Clinton untuk kedua kalinya.

"Kami memilih harapan daripada ketakutan, kami memilih persatuan daripada keterpecahan dan mengirimkan pesan kuat bahwa perubahan akan datang di Amerika," kata Obama, 46 tahun, kepada ribuan pendukungnya.

Baik Obama maupun Huckabee, 52 tahun, adalah bekas gubernur Arkansas dan ditahbiskan sebagai menteri baptis, yang suatu ketika dibuntuti oleh pesaing-pesaing terkenalnya Hillary dan Romney, dalam pertarungan mereka pada pemungutan suara pemilihan presiden November depan.

Tapi mereka meniti gelombang antusias akar rumput untuk mencapai kemenangan, dengan menggembar-gemborkan pesan pihak luar untuk perubahan di Washington.

"Semalam yang kita saksikan adalah hari baru di bidang politik Amerika," kata Huckabee, yang didampingi aktor dan pendukung Chuck Norris, kepada para pendukungnya di Des Moines. "Semalam kami menyaksikan bahwa politik Amerika masih di tangan orang-orang seperti anda."

Kampanye 2008 dinilai sebagai rangkaian pemilihan presiden yang paling terbuka sejak lebih dari 50 tahun, dengan tanpa kehadiran presiden atau wakil presiden pilihan partai mereka, dan pemilihan di Iowa dianggap sebagai pemilihan yang paling panas dalam sejarah negara-negara bagian.

Kemenangan Obama otomatis menjadikannya kandidat yang akan mengalahkan calon-calon Demokrat, dan kemenangan di New Hampshire pekan depan akan menempatkannya dalam posisi utama untuk meraih nominasi di partainya.

Obama mengantongi 38 persen dari jumlah suara, dan dengan mudah menyisihkan Edwards dengan 30 persen dan Hillary 29 persen. Sedangkan Gubernur New Meksiko Bill Richardson berada di urutan keempat dengan dua persen.

Huckabee menutup dengan perolehan 34 persen, Romney 26 persen, Senator Arizona John McCain dan mantan Senator Tennessee Fred Thopson 13 persen, dan Republikan dari Texas Ron Paul 10 persen.

Kemenangan Obama banyak didukung kalangan pemilih muda dan bahkan menyisihkan Hillary di antara pemilih wanita.(*)

Target Inflasi Pemerintah Dinilai Tak Realistis

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Target inflasi yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah sebesar 5 plus minus satu persen untuk 2008, 4,5 plus minus satu persen pada 2009 dan 4 plus minus satu persen pada 2010, dinilai tidak realistis mengingat kondisi perekonomian yang terjadi saat ini.

"Tekanan inflasi lebih besar, apalagi tahun 2008 mengingat harga minyak yang tinggi," kata pengamat ekonomi INDEF, Fadhil Hasan di Jakarta, Jumat.

Ia menambahkan, apalagi untuk inflasi tahun 2007 saja mencapai 6,59 persen tipis dibawah tahun 2006 yang mencapai 6,6 persen. "Menurunkan ke angka 6 saja susah dari 6,6 persen tahun 2006, apalagi sekarang," katanya.

Ia mengatakan selama ini target-target inflasi yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah sebelumnya juga seringkali meleset, sehingga menurut dia pemerintah sebaiknya tidak menetapkan target inflasi untuk dua tahun mendatang (2009-2010). Namun demikian ia mengatakan penetapan target tersebut merupakan hak pemerintah.

Pemerintah dan Bank Indonesia (BI) telah menetapkan sasaran inflasi selama 2008 yaitu lima plus minus satu persen, 2009 4,5 plus minus satu persen, dan 2010 sebesar 4 plus minus 1 persen pada 2010.

Sesuai dengan UU Nomor 23 tahun 1999 yang kemudian disempurnakan dengan UU Nomor 3 tahun 2004 tentang BI, maka pemerintah menetapkan sasaran inflasi setelah berkonsultasi dengan BI.

Sasaran inflasi untuk 2008. 2009, 2010 sudah dituangkan dalam Keputusan Menteri Keuangan (KMK) Nomor 1 tahun 2008 tentang Sasaran Inflasi 2008, 2009, dan 2010. Sasaran inflasi itu selanjutnya akan menjadi rujukan bagi BI dalam melaksanakan kebijakan moneter.(*)

Piutang Bank BUMN Akan Diselesaikan Berdasarkan UU PT dan UU BUMN

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Menteri Negara BUMN, Sofyan Djalil, mengatakan piutang-piutang bank BUMN akan diselesaikan dengan dasar Undang-Undang Perseroan Terbatas (Korporasi) dan Undang-Undang BUMN.

"Sudah ada kesamaan pandangan bahwa kita akan melaksanakan PP 33 tahun 2006 tentang piutang negara di mana piutang-piutang bank BUMN akan diselesaikan dengan UU korporasi dan UU BUMN," kata Sofyan Djalil, di Jakarta, Senin.

Ia mengatakan, pada dasarnya bila PP 33 tahun 2006 itu dapat diamandemen maka akan dapat menyelesaikan semua persoalan yang selama ini dianggap menghambat.

Menurut dia, hal itu yang selama ini menjadi hambatan karena banyak bank BUMN yang khawatir bila memberikan keringanan-keringanan kepada debitur seperti haircut utang akan dianggap merugikan keuangan negara.

"Karena itulah kemudian diadakan kesepakatan bersama antara Kapolri, Jaksa Agung, Menkop dan UKM, Meneg BUMN, BI, dan sejumlah pihak lain. Jadi saya pikir sudah tidak ada masalah lagi," katanya.

Sementara itu terkait program penjaminan kredit untuk UMKM, Sofyan mengatakan, program tersebut merupakan sesuatu yang sudah lama diharapkan untuk memperkuat UMKM.

"Jadi kita harapkan dengan program penjaminan ini akses pelaku UMKM lebih mudah dan lebih penting lagi merupakan solusi bagi debitur yang bermasalah selama ini," katanya.

Ia mengatakan kebijakan program penjaminan dan haircut debitur bermasalah itu diharapkan akan mampu menggerakkan sektor riil secara lebih cepat lagi.

Pada kesempatan itu, Meneg BUMN juga berkomentar tentang green shoe BNI. Menurut dia, bila memang Menteri Keuangan menyatakan memerlukan dana, maka saham untuk stabilitas akan dilepas ke pasar.(*)

SEBANYAK 658 WNI MENINGGAL DI MALAYSIA SELAMA 2007

Kuala Lumpur--RRI-Online, Sebanyak 658 WNI meninggal dalam catatan di KBRI Kuala Lumpur selama tahun 2007, sebagian besar merupakan TKI, dan sebagian kecil adalah WNI yang mendapatkan status "permanent residence" (PR) atau IC Merah.

"Ada 529 jenazah yang dikirim ke Indonesia, sementara yang dimakamkan di Malaysia 129 orang. Total jumlah WNI yang meninggal sebanyak 658 orang, sebagian besar TKI, ada yang ilegal, dan WNI yang mendapatkan permanent residence," kata staf konsuler KBRI Kuala Lumpur, Rizaldi, Rabu (2/1).

Sebagian jenazah yang dikirim ke Indonesia termasuk juga TKI yang diduga melakukan kriminal.

"Kami katakan diduga karena WNI itu ditembak polisi di lokasi kriminal. Jadi belum terbukti secara hukum," kata Rizaldi .

Data kematian WNI di Malaysia tersebut baru merupakan catatan KBRI Kuala Lumpur, belum termasuk yang tercatat di KJRI Johor Bahru, Penang, Sabah, dan Sarawak.

Mereka pun punya catatan surat pengantaran jenazah WNI pulang kampung. Jika direkapitulasi maka jumlahnya akan jauh lebih besar.

Presiden PPI (Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia) Muhammad Iqbal mengatakan, pemerintah Indonesia harus peduli dengan jumlah WNI yang meninggal di Malaysia.

"Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono yang akan bertemu dengan PM Malaysia Abdullah Badawi, 21 Januari 2008, di Kuala Lumpur harus membahas hal ini," katanya.

Hubungan baik Indonesia-Malaysia harus menyentuh akar persoalan sosial antara masyarakat kedua bangsa . Jika tidak tersentuh maka selama itu pula hubunganya akan mengalami pasang surut.

Sementara itu, Direktur Eksekutif Indonesian Sosiology Research Khairudin Harahap mengatakan, pemerintah Indonesia mulai tahun 2009 dan seterusnya harus mengalokasikan dana bagi pembentukan LBH TKI di Malaysia. Anggotanya terdiri atas para pengacara Indonesia dan Malaysia dan didukung juga oleh LSM Indonesia dan Malaysia.

"LBH TKI harus independen sehingga dapat bergerak bebas dan cepat dalam menangangi masalah TKI dan WNI di Malaysia," kata Khairudin.

Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday in a suicide attack that also killed at least 20 others at the end of a campaign rally, aides said.

The death of the 54-year-old charismatic former prime minister threw the campaign for the Jan. 8 election into chaos and created fears of mass protests and an eruption of violence across the volatile south Asian nation.

The attacker struck just minutes after Bhutto addressed a rally of thousands of supporters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, 8 miles south of Islamabad. She was shot in the neck and chest by the attacker, who then blew himself up, said, Rehman Malik, Bhutto’s security adviser.

At least 20 others were killed in the attack.

Ini menunjukkan bagaimana pentingnya legitimasi dunia terhadap bangsa ini. Walau kita tahu masih banyak tugas yang harus di selesaikan oleh pemerintah ini ?. Pertama, tentang Kemiskinan yang terus meningkat !, Kedua, tentang pengangguran yang juga setiap tahunnya semakin bertambah !. Ada yang menarik kalau kita kilas balik kebelakang bahwa dulu seorang Sarjana sangat sulit kita temukan menjadi seorang penganggur alias tidak punya pekerjaan namun pada saat ini sebaliknya hampir setiap gang kita menemukan para sarjanawan diam di tempat alias kebingungan harus mengerjakan apa..! Nah, pada Tahun 2008 kita berharap dan harus berani mimpi bahwa Tahun Baru ini merupakan Tahun Pencerahan bagi setiap manusia dan Bangsa ini. Kita jangan ngiler akan kemajuan Negara lain.., tapi yang harus kita banggakan bahwa Negara ini bangkit dan maju karna karya Bangsa ini sendiri bukan hasil ngemis pada Negara lain ...!!! Kita lahir dari tiada pakaian alias tanpa sehelai pakaian, dan kita terus di ikutkan berbagai aturan peradaban yang suka mereka sebut yang namanya moral atau etika dengan cara di pakaikan baju atau apalah yang disebut dengan tradisinya masing-masing !. Umur dan peradaban mengikuti perjalanan hidupnya mulai dari pendidikan sampai dengan perilaku, semuanya mengalir dengan kerangkanya masing-masing, namun langkah tersebut kadang membuat kita menyesal ketika kita dipaksa memaklumi sesuatu yang tidak kita setujui dan kita tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa ! Hukum alam kadang membuat kita kurang yakin dengan kebenaran serta janji Tuhan, karna begitu menyedihkan bahwa kebenaran selalu menjadi dalih dari sebuah perbuatan yang tentunya selalu menjadi modus bagi aktor dan ini dapat di maklumi karna hari hampir semua orang takut dengan ruangan 1x1, tapi jangan heran juga di dunia itu ada ruangan yang sama seperti hotel tanpa harus terganggu dengan yang lainnya.
Peradaban demi peradaban terus muncul dalam kehidupan, kecanggihan dari kemampuan seseorang menciptakan sesuatu selalu menjadi alat menentukan perjalanan ini tapi negara kita bagaikan negara dalam kesimpulan dan suka selalu mencari imag yang tanpa mengoreksi diri dengan sungguh sungguh dan di sini uji kepemimpinan dan kelayakan ! Pemimpin kita suka lupa dengan para pengangguran dan kaum miskin (KMK). Kasus demi kasus juga masih tidak ada kejelasan dan coba kita lihat kasus BLBI yang cenderung basa basi dan malah sepertinya sifatnya politis dan masih banyak lainnya. Kita akan lihat bagaimana perjalanan hidup bangsa ini dalam lintasan...!

Wapres Minta Citra Buruk Pekerja Indonesia Dihapus

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Wakil Presiden M Jusuf Kalla meminta kepada para buruh agar bisa mengahapus citra buruk pekerja Indonesia yang dikenal selalu melakukan aksi-aksi demonstrasi yang menimbulkan gejolak.

"Saya berterima kasih kepada seluruh karyawan sini yang telah bekerja dengan baik. Marilah kita hapus citra buruk pekerja dan buruh Indonesia yang selalu dikesankan penuh gejolak-gejoak, penuh demo-demo itu karena hal itu bukan ciri-ciri karyawan kita," kata Wapres saat meresmikan pabrik baterai koin lithium di kawasan industri Jalan Teuku Umar Cibitung, Bekasi, Jawa Barat.

Wapres menambahkan bahwa memang jika ada masalah perlu dilakukan negosiasi-negosiasi. Itu perlu, tetapi tidak harus dengan sampai menggunakan cara-cara yang bergejolak dan merusak.

"Industri eletronik seperti juga baterai ini makin ke depan makin efisien, kecil, dan makin kuat. Dan letak persaingannya di situ. Karena itu harus terus menerus ditingkatkan ketiga hal itu," kata Wapres.

Sementara menanggapi desakan agar pemerintah memberikan insentif bagi para investor di sektor industri eletronik, Wapres mengatakan soal insentif sudah menjadi keyakinan pemerintah yang akan dilakukan. Namun, Wapres tidak menjelaskan insentif seperti apa yang akan diberikan oleh pemerintah.

Sebelumnya Preskom PT Panasonic Gobel baterai Indonesia (PGBI) Rahmad Gobel mendesak pemerintah untuk memebrikan insentif berupa perpajakan dengan penghapusan PPnBM untuk jenias produk eletronik tertentu dalam rangka peningkatan daya saing global.

Selain itu juga menerapkan standar industri dan keamanan produk melalui percepatan penerapan Standarisasi nasional Indonesai (SNI) atas produk eletronik dengan mengadopsi standar global.

"Dengan demikian produk yang dihasilkan tidak hanya sekedar dari merek-merek tertentu saja, tetapi juga pelaku industru dunia lainnya lebih tertarik masuk ke Indonesia untuk menghasilkan produk massal mereka dan menjadikan Indonesia sebagai basis produksi dan ekspor," kata Rachmad Gobel.

PT PGBI merupakan salah satu dari 27 pabrik group Matsushita, Jepang yang berada di seluruh dunia. PT PGBI memproduksi baterai lithium dan produknya telah diekspor ke 70 negara di dunia.

Belum lama ini, dua pabrik komponen milik Panasonic di Indonesia telah tutup. Kedua pabrik itu adalah PT Panasonic Elektronik Device Indonesia (Pedida), yang memproduksi pengeras suara dan PT Matshushita Thosiba Picture Device Indonesia yang memproduksi tabung gambar televisi.

Penutupan pabrik tersebut karena produk kedua pabrik tersebut sudha ketinggalan teknologi dan tidak dipakai lagi dipasar karena telah menggunakan teknologi LCD.(*)

Pembatasan Premium Diperkirakan Mulai Akhir Maret 2008

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Badan Pengatur Kegiatan Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH Migas) memperkirakan, program pembatasan premium baru terealisasi akhir Maret 2008.

Anggota Komite BPH Migas Ibrahim Hasyim di Jakarta, Senin mengatakan, pihaknya harus menyosialisasikan terlebih dahulu, baik kepada pengguna maupun pemilik stasiun pengisian bahan bakar umum (SPBU).

"Sosialisasi ini memerlukan waktu agar program berjalan dengan baik," katanya.

Selama masa sosialisasi, lanjutnya, PT Pertamina (Persero) bisa mempersiapkan kilang yang memproduksi premium oktan 90 dan perubahan tangki timbun di SPBU.

Sekjen Departemen ESDM Waryono Karno mengatakan, pelaksanaan program pembatasan membutuhkan waktu mengingat terkait kepentingan masyarakat.

Menurut dia, saat ini masalah tersebut masih dibahas di Ditjen Migas Departemen ESDM.

Selanjutnya, akan dibawa ke Menteri ESDM, sebelum dibahas dalam sidang kabinet terbatas.

Sebelumnya, Pertamina menyatakan kesiapannya memproduksi dan menjual premium beroktan 90 pada Januari ini.

Direktur Niaga dan Pemasaran Pertamina Achmad Faisal mengatakan, pihaknya hanya tinggal menunggu instruksi pemerintah terkait pelaksanaannya.

Pertamina, lanjutnya, tengah menyiapkan infrastrukturnya seperti tangki BBM di SPBU dan juga ketersediaan mobil tangkinya.

Pada tahap awal, menurut Faisal, pembatasan bisa dilakukan di jalan utama, perumahan elit, dan jalan tol di Jakarta dan Surabaya.

Perhitungan Pertamina, penghematan yang bisa didapat melalui program pembatasan premium bisa mencapai dua juta kiloliter premium atau sekitar Rp4-5 triliun pada 2008.

Pemerintah tengah mempertimbangkan untuk membatasi pemakaian premium bersubsidi dengan mewajibkan kendaraan roda empat milik pribadi menggunakan premium berangka oktan 90 yang nonsubsidi.

Berbeda dengan premium yang dijual di pom bensin dengan angka oktan 88 dan kini masih disubsidi, premium oktan 90 tidak lagi disubsidi, sehingga tentunya harganya akan menjadi lebih mahal.

Sekarang ini, premium bersubsidi dijual dengan harga Rp4.500 per liter.

Sebenarnya, kini sudah beredar pula premium nonsubsidi berangka oktan 92 yang kalau dihasilkan PT Pertamina (Persero) dinamakan Pertamax.

Namun, harga Pertamax itu jauh lebih mahal yakni mencapai Rp7.500 per liter.

Melalui pembatasan itu, nantinya, hanya kendaraan angkutan umum saja yang boleh mengisi premium bersubsidi. Salah satu opsi pembatasannya adalah dengan memakai kartu atau katup pengisian premium tertentu. (*)

Inflasi November Dorong IHSG BEI Catat Rekor Baru

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Angka inflasi November senilai 0,18 persen dorong Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) pada Senin ditutup naik 1,44 persen untuk memecahkan rekor terbarunya.

IHSG BEI ditutup naik 38,593 poin menjadi 2.726,925 memperbaiki rekor yang tercatat pada 7 November lalu di 2.713,978 dan indeks LQ45, kelompok 45 saham unggulan, terangkat 10,642 poin (1,80 persen) ke posisi 602,515.

Analisa dari PT Sinarmas Sekuritas, Alfiansyah, kepada ANTARA News di Jakarta, mengatakan bahwa angka inflasi sbesar 0,18 persen telah mendorong pelaku pasar kembali antusias masuk ke pasar, sehingga mendorong indeks BEI.

Menurut Alfian, angka inflasi ini menimbulkan harapan turunnya suku bunga acuan Bank Indonesia (BI rate) yang akan ditentukan dalam Rapat Dewan Gubernur (RDG) pada Kamis (6/12).

"Inflasi yang turun dan kemungkinan tren harga minyak dunia juga turun, BI bisa kembali menurunkan 'BI rate'-nya," tambahnya.

Sementara itu, ia menilai, dari sentimen luar, maka bursa regional yang ditutup "mix" (bervariasi) tidak terlalu terpengaruh terhadap perdagangan di BEI.

Bursa di kawasan Asia, seperti bursa Tokyo dengan indeks Nikkei 225 ditutup turun 51,70 poin menjadi 15.628,96 dan bursa Hongkong dengan indeks Hang Seng ditutup menguat tipis 14,81 poin ke posisi 28.658,41.

"Pada perdagangan ini, angka inflasi yang mendominasi pergerakan indeks BEI," ujarnya.

Kenaikan indeks dipimpin saham unggulan, terutama yang sensitif suku, seperti Bank Mandiri naik Rp100 ke level Rp3.650, Astra Internasional Indonesia terdongkrak Rp1.800 ke posisi Rp26.800, Bank BNI menambah Rp150 ke Rp1.990, Bank BRI menambah Rp150 menjadi Rp7.950 dan Bank BCA terangkat Rp150 ke harga Rp7.250.

Sedangkan, saham-saham berbasis komoditas dan telekomunikasi juga masih menunjukkan pergerakan positif, seperti Bumi Resources menguat Rp50 ke harga Rp5.700, Tambang Timah Rp2.800 ke posisi Rp27.800, Telkom naik Rp350 ke posisi Rp10.500 dan Bakrie Telecom naik Rp5 menjadi Rp425.

Pergerakan saham pada perdagangan Senin ini didominasi yang naik sebanyak 112 dibanding yang turun 72, sedangkan 61 stagnan dan 162 tidak aktif diperdagangkan.

Volume perdagangan mencapai 3,295 miliar saham dengan nilai Rp3,691 triliun dari 49.210 kali transaksi. (*)
